Does Your Home’s Interior Need a Facelift?

Isn’t this a gorgeous space? Does your bedroom look like this? Okay, so it is time for a reality check. If you are going to be really, brutally honest, do you have rooms in your home that could use a little TLC? Come on now, come clean. Maybe your master bedroom has seen better days. Perhaps your bathroom has vibes from the ‘70’s. Every now and again it is time for the rooms in your home to get a facelift. There are two main benefits of updating your living space. It not only improves your mood every time you walk into them, but down the road can also increase the resale value of your home.

We think in general bathrooms have made the biggest transformations over the years, and tend to be in need of a facelift sooner rather than later. Want proof? Check this one out.

This homeowner felt it was time for a change. With the amber dimpled glass right out of the 60’s, a tiny sink and cabinet area, the huge rattan hamper, and outdated flooring, it was time to call Interior Affairs. Facelift? Absolutely.

The photo above is from another bathroom before the big remodel. Though this bathroom is a bit younger in years with a lot of potential, there were some design flaws that the client wanted to update. The two little mirrors were not functional, taking up too much wall space given the small area. Similarly, the mirror and lighting above the sink could be prettier and more dramatic. Just wait until you see the transformation!

With this bedroom, there were a few design challenges preventing the client from experiencing the pure bliss a bedroom should exude. For instance, if you have wood on your ceiling, it is best to draw in some of the earthy tones in the wall color, rather than stark white. The headboard, footboard, burgundy wallcoverings, and lamps could also use a facelift. Take a look at the transformations!

So that is the before. Let’s take a look at the after. Wow. What a difference wall color, large expansive mirrors that visually enlarge a space,, and granite countertops make in this bathroom with the double sinks. It is now restful and luxurious.

Now if this were a guest room, you’d be in a lot of trouble, because your guests would never want to leave. What a gorgeous space! The warm paint color on the walls blends so beautifully into the ceiling. The sconces on the wall create a romantic ambiance, not to mention the fireplace and candles. The brick on the fireplace anchors the room and just makes you want to settle in for a long winter’s nap. Just gorgeous! The luxurious bedding and accessories make you want to take a deep breath. Over and over again. Lovely.
